My Story

Hello! My name is Micah D. Bradley, and I was born on January 23, 2018. I entered this world weighing just 3 pounds and 14 ounces, already defying the odds. As I grew up, my family noticed that I was a little behind in reaching my milestones. However, with God's help, I have defied the odds and caught up with my peers.

Over the years, my mother expressed her concerns to my previous Pediatrician, but those concerns were often ignored. It wasn't until I started school in 2021 that my delays became more noticeable. I began to fall behind academically, and my speech development was also delayed. My mom decided to switch to my current Pediatrician, who listened and took the time to conduct a thorough examination.

My current Pediatrician first recommended that I undergo Speech Therapy to see how I functioned for the remainder of the school year. Speech Therapy was beneficial, and I made tremendous progress in my speech. However, I continued to struggle in school and found simple tasks, like cutting and eating with a fork, challenging. Despite repeated testing by the school system, nothing significant was found, including tests for dyslexia, which returned normal results.

After my mother voiced her concerns again, my doctor promptly recommended further testing. She suggested that I visit a resource center that assesses various conditions, including Autism. When the results came back, I was diagnosed with Level One High Functioning Autism. This diagnosis is often overlooked because I am verbal and can do many things independently. In addition, I am a fighter who doesn’t let anything hold me back.

Currently, I am making great progress. I have a private tutor, I attend Occupational Therapy, and I have a wonderful teacher who has played a significant role in my development. I want to share my story because I believe there are many other boys and girls who are being overlooked and not receiving the help they need.
